Privacy policy

Last updated 08 October 2026

This policy explains how TheDevTeam Ltd collects and uses personal data through the Eclipse Miningware website at eclipseminingware.com and the Eclipse Miningware demo at demo.eclipseminingware.com.

Who we are

Eclipse Miningware is built and run by TheDevTeam Ltd, a UK company (company number 10405029). We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.

  • Address: 8 The Lawn, St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex, TN38 0HH, United Kingdom
  • Email: enquiries@thedevteam.co.uk
  • Phone: +44 (0)1424 442400

If your employer uses Eclipse Miningware to run its mine, the data you enter there is your employer's, and your employer decides how it is used. We process it on their behalf under our contract with them, and their privacy notice applies rather than this one.

What we collect and why

When you contact us

The contact form asks for your name, email address, phone number and, optionally, your company and a message. We use these to reply to your enquiry and to arrange the trial, demo or overview you asked about. We store your enquiry in our database and send a copy to our team by email. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.

Protecting the contact form from spam

The contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA to tell people apart from automated spam. reCAPTCHA collects information about your device and how you use the page, such as your IP address, and sends it to Google, which uses it under its own privacy policy and terms of service. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the form free of abuse.

When you sign up for the demo

You create a demo account by choosing which parts of the demo to try and signing in with Microsoft or LinkedIn. That provider sends us your name, your email address and an identifier for your account with them. We never see your password. We use these details to create your account and to let you sign back in. Our lawful basis is that this is necessary to give you the demo you asked for.

Your Microsoft or LinkedIn account itself is covered by their own privacy policies: the Microsoft Privacy Statement and the LinkedIn Privacy Policy.

When you use the demo

The demo runs on a fictional mine. We record what is needed to run it: the pages you open, the changes you make, your notification settings, and technical details such as your IP address, your browser and the time of each request. We use these to run the demo, keep it secure, fix problems and improve Eclipse Miningware. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in providing and improving the demo.

Please do not enter real personal or confidential information into the demo. Other demo users can see the data in it, and it is reset regularly.

The AI assistant in Report Builder

Report Builder includes an AI assistant. When you use it, the messages you type are sent to Anthropic, together with the fictional demo data needed to answer them, and Anthropic generates the replies on our behalf. We do not keep your messages after your conversation ends. Please do not include personal information in them.

Following up on your demo

When you create a demo account, we tell our team your name, your email address, the provider you signed in with and the parts of the demo you chose, so that we can follow up on your interest in Eclipse Miningware. If we cannot create your account straight away, we tell them the same details so that we can get in touch. We may also email you occasional news about Eclipse Miningware. You can stop these at any time through the unsubscribe link in any of our emails, or by contacting us. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in telling people who have tried Eclipse Miningware about it.

Server logs

Like most websites, our servers record the IP address, browser and pages requested for each visit. We use these logs only to keep our services secure and working.

Understanding how the website is used

If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to see how visitors find and use this website: which pages they open, how long they stay, which site sent them here, their approximate location, and the type of device and browser they use. We look at this in aggregate to improve the website, not to identify you, and Google Analytics does not store your IP address. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from the Cookies link at the bottom of every page.

Cookies and similar technologies

We only use analytics cookies if you accept them, and we do not use advertising cookies.

  • Google Analytics sets cookies whose names start with _ga, but only if you accept analytics cookies. They last up to two years. If you later change your choice to reject, we delete them.
  • Your cookie choice is kept in your browser's local storage, so that we do not ask you again on every page.
  • reCAPTCHA may set cookies on pages with the contact form, to protect it from spam.
  • The demo keeps your sign-in session and your settings in your browser's local storage, so that you stay signed in.
  • Videos embedded in some of our news articles use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode or Vimeo with tracking turned off. They may still set cookies once you play a video.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the contact form and the demo may not work without them.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run Eclipse Miningware, who process it on our instructions:

  • Microsoft Azure (UK South): hosts our database.
  • Amazon Web Services (London region): sends the emails from our contact form.
  • Twilio SendGrid: sends the emails from the demo, including the alert to our team when you sign up.
  • Google: reCAPTCHA spam protection on the contact form, and Google Analytics if you accept analytics cookies.
  • Anthropic: the AI assistant in Report Builder.

Microsoft and LinkedIn send us your details when you sign in with them. They act independently of us, under their own privacy policies. We may also disclose personal data where the law requires us to.

International transfers

Some of these providers, including Google and Anthropic, may process your data outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards UK data protection law provides for such transfers, such as the UK-US data bridge or the International Data Transfer Agreement approved by the Information Commissioner.

How long we keep it

  • Contact form enquiries: 12 months.
  • Demo accounts: deleted after 12 months without use, or sooner if you ask us.
  • What you enter in the demo: removed when the demo data is reset, normally every night.
  • AI assistant messages: not kept by us after your conversation ends.
  • Server logs: 24 months.
  • Google Analytics data: 14 months.
  • If you opt out of our emails, we keep your email address on a list of people not to email, so that we can respect your choice.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct it if it is wrong;
  • ask us to delete it;
  • ask us to limit how we use it;
  • object to how we use it, and at any time to direct marketing;
  • ask us to send it to you or to another organisation in a reusable format.

To use any of these rights, email us at enquiries@thedevteam.co.uk. We will reply within one month, and we do not charge for this.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so that we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Children

Eclipse Miningware is a business product and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top.
